Start Your Career In IT

Real experience. Flexible working. A route into the industry.

Want to take your first steps into technology — or make a switch into IT?

Key One Developments is a software development company creating digital products for real-world businesses, while providing a supported route into the technology industry through apprenticeships.

Whether you're starting your career, looking for a change of direction, or have been looking for work and need an opportunity to get your foot in the door, we're here to help you build the skills and experience to move forward.

Don't just learn about IT. Experience it.

We believe the best way to develop your skills is through real experience.

Our apprentices work alongside our software development team, contributing to genuine projects and developing practical technical and professional skills in a real working environment.

You'll have the opportunity to learn while doing — building experience that can help you take the next step in your career.

Real Software Projects

Work on genuine digital products and contribute to projects that deliver value to real businesses.

Learn While You Work

Develop your technical knowledge alongside practical workplace experience, with training built into your apprenticeship.

Flexible Working

Our normal approach is a 30-hour, four-day working week, predominantly working from home, with occasional on-site meetings.

Supported Development

You'll receive ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship, with your development shaped around your goals, learning needs and career ambitions.

Not In Education, Employment, or Training?

Your Next Step Could Start Here

We're currently supporting the government's agenda to reduce the number of young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). We're particularly welcoming applications from 18–24-year-olds who have been looking for work and have been receiving Universal Credit for six months or more. If that's you, this could be an opportunity to take a different route into the technology industry. You don't need to have everything figured out. You don't need years of IT experience.

You need the willingness to learn, develop and take your next step.

What You'll Develop

Technology skills are only part of building a successful career. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll have the opportunity to develop:

  • Technical skills
Software development, digital technologies and practical project experience.
  • Problem-solving
Learning how to approach genuine challenges and find effective solutions.
  • Communication & teamwork
Working with colleagues and contributing to real development projects.
  • Professional confidence
Building the confidence and workplace skills needed to progress in your career.
  • Independent working
Learning how to manage your time, responsibilities and development in a professional environment.

Start your career with real experience.

If you're interested in technology, ready to learn and looking for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
